Here are the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), the most frequently asked questions from athletes.

  • HOW DO I REGISTER?

    Registration is possible only through the website veronamarathoneventi.com.

    Log on the site, click REGISTRATION and then the link GET YOUR BIB.

    If you are not already registered, you must click on SIGN UP and fill the form. Once registered, you will open a list of events.

    After your choice of the race of your interest fill in the registration. Once completed you can choose to pay through PayPal or by bank transfer. In this case you will receive a confirmation email be showing a code that you should copy and drop in the bank transfer order.

    No other forms of payment.

    You can then check the status of your application by entering the Registration Check button in the Home page.

  • WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION?

    Italian citizens and foreign participants are obliged to sign up to a sports team affiliated to FIDAL, to which they must submit a medical certificate of fitness to competitive athletics activities.

    Otherwise they must have Runcard and medical certificate as other members.

    If you don’t have any card, you can choose “Commitment to registration” during your registration.

  • WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE BE TO SENT TO THE COMPLETION OF REGISTRATION?
    • FIDAL members must indicate only their card number and Sports team name and code.
    • MEMBERS OF SPORTS TEAM other than FIDAL should indicate their card number and Sports team name but they must also send a copy of the card to iscrizioni@veronamarathon.it or by fax at 045 511 2238.
    • RUNCARD members should indicate their card number, but they must also send a copy of the card and the medical certificate of fitness for competitive sports iscrizioni@veronamarathon.it or by fax at 045 511 2238.
  • WHAT IF I AM NOT ITALIAN?

    Athletes can participate if they are more than 20 years old on the date of the event, in possession of one of the following requirements:

    • Athletes with a club card affiliated to Foreign Athletics Federations recognized by IAAF.
    • Athletes in possession of a valid Runcard (valid as sports insurance, and allowed to compete); The card is on-line subscribed by FIDAL web site www.fidal.it or by www.runcard.com ; in this case it must be together with the medical certificate issued in your home country for the practice of the sport activity, the certificate must include the following mandatory exams in Italy: ECG at rest, ECG at rest and after effort, spirometry.
  • WHEN WILL THE LETTER OF CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION BE AVAILABLE?

    The confirmation letter will be available at least 5 days before the event.

    You find it in your email or you download it on the official website where you find “REGISTRATION CHECK”.

  • THERE ARE SHUTTLES TO GET TO THE RACE?

    On Sunday, from 06.30 a.m. up to 5.00 p.m., will operate continuously a free shuttle service dedicated to athletes and companions, which connects the Free Parking Area, close to Expo Verona Marathon –AGSM Forum, to Piazza Bra where is located the Start Area and the Finish Area

     

    The shuttle stops will be clearly marked by a board:

    • AGSM FORUM Parcheggio C
    • Via Pallone (400.mt from Piazza Bra)
  • HOW CAN I FIND HOTEL ACCOMODATION FOR THE WEEKEND OF THE RACE?

    Verona is the fourth tourist city of Italy, there are many hotels.

  • WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE COURSE?

    The Verona Marathon course is flat and with few curves.

    One of the fastest routes you can find to improve your record.

    The route of Verona Marathon is for the first part is the same as that of the ZeroWind Cangrande Half Marathon, in the second part it remains quick and central to the city.
    The start line and finish line are in Piazza Bra, in Verona.
    Both routes are fully plans on paved roads.

  • WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?

    In the central area of Verona, close to the start, some parking lots are available, two at Corso Porta Nuova, three hundred meters far from the start, one at the Gasometro, six hundred meters from the start and one near the railway station, eight hundred meters from the start.

    In addition, on Sunday, in the streets around the departure parking in the blue bays is free.

    The parking lots around EXPO Verona Marathon, at AGSM Forum, are available for free and connected via shuttle to the start and finish area.

    The starting points of the shuttles indicated by a specific indicative Totem are the following:

    • Stop AGSM FORUM Parking C
    • Via Pallone stop (400.mt walk from Piazza Bra)

    The shuttle service will be available all day from 06.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. every 10/15 minutes.
    This service allows participants and accompanying persons to be able to go to the departure and then return from the arrival area (bus journey time 10 ‘).

  • CAN I COME BY TRAIN?

    Yes!

    Verona is very well served by rail service.

    Note that the start area and the expo are a ten minute walk from the Verona Porta Nuova main train station.

  • HOW TO GET TO THE VERONAMARATHON EXPO?

    Verona Marathon Expo is located at AGSM FORUM PALASPORT – Piazzale Azzurri d’Italia, close to the football Stadium.

    BY CAR: Take VERONA NORD exit driving on A22 Brennero/Modena motorway. Follow indications to the City centre –Stadium by driving on the median ring-road. Exit Stadium.

    BY BUS: Take VERONA NORD exit driving on A22 Brennero/Modena motorway. Follow indications to the City centre –Stadium by driving on the median ring-road. Exit Stadium.

    BY TRAIN:  Arrival to Verona Porta Nuova railway station and here follow the Stadium direction, 1,5 km far, where is located the EXPO.

    BY PLANE: Take shuttle service until Verona Porta Nuova railway station  and here follow the Stadium direction, 1,5 km far, where is located the EXPO.

  • HOW TO GET TO THE START AREA (PIAZZA BRA)?

    BY CAR: Exit VERONA SUD and follow the signs for the city center. Piazza Bra is located about 2 km from the highway.

    To park your car the suggested parking spaces are positioned in the areas nearby Piazza Bra: Arena, Cittadella, Centro, Tribunale, Città di Nimes and Porta Palio.

    BY BUS: Exit VERONA SUD and follow the signs for the city center. Piazza Bra is located about 2 km from the highway.

    To park you may need to use the new Bus parking Centro, which is located 800 mt away from the start area.

    BY TRAIN: Arrival to Verona Porta Nuova railway station, 2 km far from Piazza Bra.

    BY PLANE: Take the shuttle to Center / Station. Arrival to Verona Porta Nuova railway station, 2 km far from Piazza Bra.

    CAMPER: Via Bona G.Dalla – Area Porta Palio, at about 1 km from the Verona Porta Nuova railway station, there is an equipped camper parking.

  • FAILURE TO PARTICIPATION. CAN I TRASFER MY REGISTRATION?

    We have two options:

    • To transfer the registration to Verona Marathon of 2020, following payment of a supplement of € 10.00 for administrative fees and upon written notice until November 4th, 2019.
    • To transfer the registration to Verona Marathon 2019 to another person, subject to payment of an additional € 10.00 for administrative fees and upon notice until November 4th, 2019.

    The substituting participant must provide all personal information about the membership as if it were a new registration.

    You will be given a new start number available.
